3D Animator in Japan?

I have a strong grasp of 3d programs (Maya mainly) and am working towards a degree in 3D animation. I have always been interested in Japanese culture and style of living but I have noticed there are not many jobs within the 3d industry. All I see is anime artists and even then I doubt they would want a foreigner. My question is, are there realistically jobs in Japan in 3D animation or 3D programs? Would they consider foreigners for this job (assuming they could speak japanese)?
Re: thecheapest – So if I did have my Visa companies would be more interested immediately? From what I have gathered they are not very keen on employing foreigners? Is this true?

They say Maya is used in such game companies as Nintendo, Square Enix and Namco. So yes.

    >Would they consider foreigners for this job

No. But if you already have visa for Japan and live in Japan, you could find a job.

    >So if I did have my Visa companies would be more interested immediately?

No, I did not mean that. I meant, you can apply for the job just as Japanese people do. But you have to have enough skill and experience to be hired by them.

    >From what I have gathered they are not very keen on employing foreigners? Is this true?

Yes, true. But you said “assuming they could speak Japanese”. If you spoke Japanese, you can compete with Japanese workers.

No much chance in that. There’s plenty of Japanese wanting those jobs. Such jobs will always go to a Japanese first. Not to mention the fact you would need to speak, read and write Japanese at a native level.
Sorry,I know that’s not what you wanted to hear. But Japan just isn’t a easy place to work in.Most Americans are limited to teaching English.

I agree with Carl because game industry in Japan just let subcontractors do job well done cheaply. They don’t need to employ any stranger for 3D animation by themselves. It is not profitable or reasonable for wise company. They just need strategic brains for world business only.

There are so many consigned programmers in India or China.
