can a scroll mouse work as a 3 button mouse in Maya?




I’m a freelance 3d designer.I use Maya in my work. Maya requires a 3 button mouse for panning(moving view of object). My old 3 button mouse which I used with Maya broke. When i tried to buy a new 3 button mouse, I found out that it is no longer widely available in stores. What is widely available is a scroll mouse, which I’m not sure if it works the same way in Maya

    The scroll wheel works as a 3rd button on most scroll mice. Usually “clicking” with the scroll wheel uses the function of the third button and turning the wheel uses the scroll function.
