What 3D software is best for a beginner on a mac osX 10.2? Something that has a short learning curve and isn’t overly complex so as to confuse a beginner and also does not cost 8,000 dollars a la Maya. Is Lightwave a good start?

What 3d modeling program is easiest to learn?

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Do you think maya, lightwave or blender would be easiest to learn. I am new to the 3d modeling enviroment, however rather than just saying blender because its free or what not. I tried blender and got books on it and actually found it to be quite bad at teaching. Am i missing something? Are the others easier to learn? Are there other programs that are better or easier? Please tell

What is the best 3D modeling/animating workflow?

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Should I model in Maya and animate in Max or vice versa? Or should I both model and animate in one or the other? I only ask because I notice that Autodesk developed both the programs and am wondering why. I assume they are used for different things but I don’t know. Thanks!
